In The Times today, Matthew Parris comments on how Britain is covered in phone boxes that "are an eyesore - barely used, routinely out of order, mostly filthy". He is calling for them "to be scrapped, as they are ugly, unhygienic and pointless".
Good point.
So when was the last time you even noticed a phone box?! All to often, things that have become a constant feature of our world become invisible to us, through familiarity.
